Hardwired

"Hardwired" is essentially a self portrait of this aging "baby boomer" in my struggles with the Digital Age.  Downloads, WiFi connections, Search Engine Optimization, User Interfaces, Raster Images are as incomprehensible to me as the Tanema language of the Solomon Islands (reportedly spoken by only 4 people!!) I grew up in a time when you could rebuild a carburetor, replace a vacuum tube in your TV or radio and having a CB handset in your car was the only way to get up to the minute road conditions during your travels. Don't get me wrong.... just because the expression on my face is a mix of WTF and exasperation does not mean I'm not thankful for all that technology has brought into our lives!

"Hardwired" is constructed from beautifully patinated antique sheet metal, a rusty door hinge assembly and wire rescued from the desert near Goldfield NV. The original purpose of the vintage circuit board is unknown.
