Hey...Teacher!

Hey… Teacher! (Leave Them Kids Alone!)

After a collector told me some of my wet molded leather creations reminded him of characters in the animated cult film “The Wall”, I thought it was high time to pay tribute to Gerald Scarfe the weird and wonderful artist behind the characters. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters based on their 1979 album “The Wall” and the story is built around the iconic songs of that album.

“Hey…Teacher!” is a mixed media wall sculpture constructed with a collage of wet molded leather and fabric features mounted on airbrushed plywood. The antique objects utilized include porcelain dental samples, a hand hammered copper bowl and a cast iron mantle clock base. The base contains a battery operated programmable light fixture that gives the piece an eerie glow.
